G-fest II coming up

As said in an earlier post, we'll be playing at G-Fest II on November 3rd, just before headliner Crystal and we've got some damn good reasons why you should not miss this gig:

first of all, Alex will be in the country for a couple of days (see previous posts), so he will be able play this gig right before he flies back to Iceland. It may be a while until you can see him perform with EJECT again.

We have a more than an hour to fill, and we've taken organiser Ludo's numerous hints into account: besides a limited selection of evergreens, we've agreed on blowing no less than 5 unreleased tracks your way, 4 of which have never even seen the stage before.

Furthermore, the organisation has produced a well-balanced line-up, with some bands we really like ourselves. You won't get bored, that's for sure

For more info + poster we refer to the G-Fest page in our top-friends list

An Alex for an Alex

a while ago we announced that Alex had accepted an invitation for a 2 year post-doc in Iceland, and now (sound the bells!) we've figured out a way to temporarily replace him.

friend-of-the-band and Zero Gravity guitarist Alex Vanhaesendonck has agreed to replace our own Alex during his 2 year absence (starting October). We all know LexZG very well, so we avoid the risk of taking a complete stranger on board + Lexeject will be able to reclaim his place when he returns (if he ever returns at all: we doubt if he'll ever grow tired of having Scandinavian pussy for breakfast ;-)

Of course we hope that we can make this work without interfering with Zero Gravity's activities.

New logo & look

Website and Myspace have been completely restyled. We wanted a more modern look and decided to chuck away the old logo "while we're at it".

Thanks to Dirk from Harbinger Design

Good news for our fanclub in Iceland, bad news for the rest of the world: bassist Alex has accepted an offer from a university in Iceland to do a post-doc, which means that he'll be out of the country from October 2007 until (at least) october 2009. Although we 're sad to see him go, we realize that this was an offer he ouldn't refuse and we wish him a fantastic personal & professional challenge, and of course a lot of rumpy-pumpy with tall big-breasted Scandinavian blondes ;-)

Sitting around for two years poking our noses is not an option, and neither is a split-up. We're gonna do everything we possibly can to find a temporary bassist to fill the space until Alex returns and defrosts, but we also know that this formula may not be all that appealing to a potential new member, and that we may have no choice but to replace Alex definitively. We still have about eight months to figure this one out, so we'll certainly keep you informed...

Interested bass players can always contact us, the sooner the better!

First of all a happy newyear to everybody!

We got a very nice present from Santa this year: our very own rehearsal room! We had the oppurtunity to rent a double garage box from Damien's parents at a very reasonable rent rate (for which we are very thankful) and we isolated the whole shebang ourselves, which took a lot of sweat and even more cash...

the advantages of our new home, compared to the old little basement, are numerous: we no longer have to sit on each others laps during rehearsals, the height of the ceiling enables us to stand up straight, we can rehearse whenever the fuck we want, we don't have to drag our equipment down the narrow and treacherous stairs anymore at night after a gig, and most importantly: we no longer have to be seen entering a kindergarten once a week.

Many new songs have already been written, and we hope to share 'em with you on stage as soon as possible

In November 2006, EJECT finally decided to join Myspace, because we didn't wanna miss out on all the true and everlasting bonds of warm friendship that seem to be forged there *LOL*. seriously, we just wanted to have all 4 tracks from The Mirrror Cold easily accessible, and www.myspace.com/ejectmetal seemed to be the perfect tool for that. Allen daarheen dus...

November also concluded the shopping spree that almost bankrupted guitarists Damien & Johan and bassist Alex :). Both guitarist have almost always played on Jackson (Soloist and Kelly), but have now each added an ESP to their gear. Johan bought his ESP EX earlier this year and Damien purchased a ESP Eclipse 2 weaks ago, while Alex has been the proud owner of a Yamaha John Myung RBXJM2 for almost a year now. pictures of some boys with new toys comin' up!

November 18th marked the end of our 2006 gig schedule (unless something else pops up). More gigs will follow in 2007!

Unfortunately, we've had to cancel our Rock Café gig (oct 15th). We'll surely talk to Bjell to see if we can arrange another date...

next gig: Doendersfest (october 21st)

On sunday July 7th, Bart Herbosch lost his fight against cancer at the age of 43. Bart was a good friend of Johan's parents and was a gifted artist. In 2002 EJECT used one of his magnificent paintings for the cover of The Martyr's Blood. We'd like show our sympathy to his daughter Freya and all other family members &
friends.

Unfortunately, we've had to cancel our gig at High Voltage Fest, because Alex will be abroad for work at that time.

First gig abroad

On Sunday March 19th we'll be playing in Het Muziekcafé in Kerkrade in Holland (near Maastricht). This will be the first foreign gig in our history, and also the first concert featuring the complete Eject-ZeroGravity-BeforeSilence package. The line-up will be completed by Downstroy, a local band. We know that due to the date (sunday evening) and the distance, many people from our home base will be reluctant to come and see us. For those who do want to tag along, just let us know. We'll try to get you on board of one of the eject-cars.

More information soon on the concert-page

We've had some difficulties with the site, that's why the latest news posts have vanished. We didn't try to put them back on, cause who cares 'bout old news anywayz.

2005 has been good to the band. Armin, who joined in 2004, has proven to be a great asset, live as well as on the "The Mirror Cold", which we gave birth to this year. We also did some great gigs, for example Metalloween @ Blauwe Kater. We have also written a handful of new stuff: some of you may already have seen us play our new thrash metal anthem "Bias Fear" (aka "De Vette") live a couple of times. But we've also got some pretty experimental shit coming your wayz...

Needless to say that EJECT-rehearsals have been rare these pas few weeks. Satan is a really cool guy, but he can kiss our freakin' buttocks this time of year, 'cause we're remembering the birth of baby Jezus by shoving as much food, beer and wine down our throats as we possibly can. But don't worry: once we've all visited our grand-mothers and recieved all our presents we will continue to terrorize christianity and ritually slay priests all over the land...

y'all have a fantabulous 2006, may it be kinder to humanity than 2005 was.

Metalen groeten,

Our gig at Metalloween was a blast. Because of the very high skills of the bands before us we almost shit our pants when it was our turn, but the crowd was fookin' great.

One thing though: the guys who organised this evening never expected Metalloween to be such a succes (I think nobody did), so De Blauwe Kater was rap stampensvol and a lot of people had to be denied access for safety reasons. Some people were asking us if we could somehow get them in, but we really couldn't help them. We feel sorry for those who came all the way to see EJECT or another band and never got in, but it wasn't our fault (it wasn't anybody's fault really)...

Thanks to everybody who came and to the other bands!

September 30th we'll be doing a gig with Before Silence and Breathstealer in/on Péniche Fulmar, a boat in Brussels. That's right, a freakin' boat, floating on water... but no worries, we've been told it's a damn fine piece of craftsmanship , which even Joris' bouble bass can't possibly sink. But don't forget yer shorts, just in case ;-)

Anyhow, it will be our maiden concert within the boundaries of Brussels City, so we hope to see a lot of people there!!!

Because some of the EJECT-members have to attend a festival in Holland that begins that same evening, we'll be playing first, followed by Before Silence and Breathstealer. More details on the poster...

We can also proudly announce that we'll be playing with IN-QUEST (and others) on October 31st, @ the Halloween Fest in Leuven. More details 'bout that soon!

It had to happen eventually: May 15th (sunday) we'll be playing @ Rock Café (Oude Markt Leuven). Although the five of us will probably be taking up half of the room – no offence Bjelle, small but cosy - we hope to see a lot of familiar hair out there.
April 17th, 2005
Our trip to De Studio has been quite the succes, if we may say so ourselves. In only three days time, producer Dirk has managed to drench our music in a sound that considerably exceeds the quality of a regular demo. In other words: it shall blow thy socks off!

On April 27th we'll be heading down there again, for some additional mixing. Hopefully we'll be in the final stage of the booklet-production by then, so that we can release the damn thing upon as soon as possible.

This will be the tracklist of "The Mirror Cold":
1. Madness Saves (4:39)
2. Cleansing (5:05)
3. Suffer The Pride (6:57)
4. The Mirror Cold (7:46)
(Total running time: approx 25 min)
